adi Building & Refurbishment Supporting Redevelopment Work At Crowngate Shopping Centre
Crowngate Shopping Centre has announced that the exciting £1.5 million redevelopment of the Angel Place entrance of Friary Walk will begin in early March.
The renovation of Crowngate’s Friary Walk entrance is due to start in a few weeks time, with proposed completion in autumn 2019. Following investment from the shopping centre’s owner, The Crown Estate, the updates will include new windows and a modernised entrance at Angel Place. This work signals Crowngate’s long-term commitment to delivering an improved visitor experience.
adi Building & Refurbishment the specialist construction arm of the adi Group has been appointed to carry out the redevelopment, which will welcome a workforce comprising over 15 people from Worcestershire and neighbouring counties for the 26-week project.

Mike Lloyd, Centre Manager at Crowngate Shopping Centre, explains that the refurbishment will create a better shopping environment while complementing the traditional heritage of the city centre. “We are absolutely thrilled that work to upgrade the external areas of Friary Walk will be underway shortly.
“The investment helps to showcase Crowngate as a destination that continues to attract established brands and independent operators, as well as being a venue which people enjoy visiting.
“It will open additional doors in terms of potential new businesses, which will increase employment and boost the local economy.”
In the past year, Iceland has also received a full renovation. In addition to this, Crowngate has welcomed new stores including Bargain Buys, The Perfume Shop and Oasis, alongside independent stores including Monkee Business, 1st Class Turkish Barbers and A Write Card.
