Stephen Forrester has been appointed by adi Group, the rapidly
expanding Birmingham-based engineering solutions business, as Managing Director of its successful Mechanical division.
Bringing a wealth of experience in procurement, operational management and business development his appointment is seen as key in continuing the Group’s growth and expansion into priority areas.
Stephen’s career started in procurement within the aerospace industry and progressed into the automotive sector where he has worked for companies that include Milsco Manufacturing Limited and Promek Seating Systems.
Previous to this position Stephen spent the last eight years as managing director for the European division of Jason Incorporated, a US Nasdaq corporation, where he managed the seating and suspension manufacturing business.
Stephen says he was attracted to adi by the diversity and full turnkey opportunity that it delivers to its customers. The Group offers engineering solutions to a spectrum of UK manufacturing blue chips – including many multinationals headquartered in the West Midlands – and has tripled in size since 2008 as he comments:
“I was enticed into the Group by its entrepreneurial approach and track record of growth in a deflated economy and within a challenging marketplace. I believe the Group has only really scratched the surface of what it can achieve by cross-selling its business units and technical capabilities; this is a very exciting time to be part of the adi Group team.
“The adi Group boasts an extremely impressive customer portfolio and prides itself on the development of long-standing business relationships across a vast collection of manufacturing industries; especially within the food and drink, aerospace and defence and automotive sectors. My exposure at a corporate level helps me to further strengthen such relationships and achieve our strategic plan of continued aggressive growth over the next five years.”
Alan Lusty, Chief Executive Officer, adi Group adds: “Our business success is borne out of the commitment to importing talent; like each of the 16 specialist divisions in our Group, adi Mechanical has grown by investing in individuals capable of responding to specific customer and marketplace needs. Stephen brings an appealing mix of experience to meet these needs enabling adi Mechanical to broaden the sectors where we can deliver pipework and fabrication installation and fitting services.”
