adi Group Employees ‘Wear It Pink’ For Breast Cancer Now
Staff at adi Group added a splash of pink to their work attire in support of Breast Cancer Now’s annual Wear It Pink fundraiser.
The nation-wide event, which took place on Friday 19th October, is one of the biggest fundraising events in the UK. Hosted during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, thousands of amazing people wore pink in their communities, schools or work places for the UK’s largest breast cancer charity, Breast Cancer Now.
The charity who hosted its first event in 2002 has raised over £31.5 million for life-saving research. Research that’s working to discover how to prevent breast cancer, how to detect it earlier and how to treat it effectively at every stage so we can stop the disease taking lives.
Staff across the Group’s head office and regional sites in took part in the event with its Automotive Services division hosting a pink themed cake bake alongside dressing down to raise extra funds for Breast Cancer Now. The companies construction division adi Building & Refurbishment and sister company Aquapak Polymers team members also took part.
Claire Frays, Group Communications Officer said, “Breast cancer is the most common form of cancer in the UK. One in eight women in the UK will be affected in their lifetime and around 55,000 women are diagnosed every year. This and many more reasons were why we were excited to once again take part in Breast Cancer Now’s Wear It Pink Day. This is a cause close to many of our employee’s hearts and we’re delighted to have raised £160 from our cake bake and dress down days. This year we had more participants than ever including our regional sites which is fantastic – we look forward to wearing pink again next year! ”
