adi Group has been selected as Richard Burden MP’s All-Party Parliamentary Corporate Responsibility Group (APCRG) Constituency Responsible Business Champion.
Each year MPs are invited by the APCRG to identify an outstanding local business which, because of its positive impact in their constituency, deserves to be their Constituency Responsible Business Champion.
A Parliamentary judging panel then considers MPs’ nominations against national criteria announced each year by the APCRG and selects one company as the winner of the APCRG National Responsible Business Champion award. In selecting a national winner the judging panel will consider a nominated company’s overall impact in its constituency; the extent of employees’ engagement in the work for which it has been nominated; support for the company’s work from local partners; and the extent to which it goes beyond what the company is legally or contractually obliged to do.
Earlier this year, the APCRG announced the criteria against which nominated companies would be judged to select the 2016 APCRG National Responsible Business Champion. The judges looked for companies that are:
- supporting the local community;
- investing in healthy workplaces;
- offering apprenticeships and training to all age groups;
- promoting equality & diversity in the workplace, including
- offering older people work opportunities; and
- monitoring suppliers’ actions on these issues.
The Group wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Mr Richard Burden MP for selecting us has his champion. The Right Honourable Sajid Javid, MP and Secretary of State for Business Skills and Innovation will be presenting the National Award to the Responsible Business Champions at a reception on 13th July. We will keep you posted with further updates on our progress.
