adi Group has sponsored North Bromsgrove High School Robotics Club and is delighted to hear that the talented sixth formers have qualified for the VEX World Robotics Championships.
The students will be heading to California at the end of April to take on the other finalists, having designed, built, wired and programmed their robots from scratch using adi’s investment. The contest will be built around a game called Toss Up which is played on a 12ft square table-top pitch that sees the robots battling to place coloured balls into strategic scoring positions.
VEX is a learning system that promotes all the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) and the perfect opportunity for students who are interested in careers involving engineering to gain some real hands on experience as Alan Lusty, CEO of midland based adi Group comments:
“Funding partnerships like this are just one way that we can help to attract more young people into the engineering industry, and sits alongside our apprenticeship scheme which provides worthwhile alternatives for youngsters looking for a hands-on approach to learning. We currently have seven apprentices working in a number of different roles within the organisation, along with an on-going association with Aston University Engineering Academy. We wish the students the very best of luck at the Championships and hope they enjoy their stateside adventure!”
