Last Thursday, James Sopwith (Group Strategic Account Director) joined the Head of Supply Chain for Airbus UK, the Managing Director of Haribo UK & Ireland and Yvette Cooper, MP for Normanton, Pontefract and Castleford at the Made In Yorkshire (MIY) Exhibition.
Made In Yorkshire is part of the Made In Group of which adi is a Patron of its “Made In The Midlands” arm. Made in Yorkshire was the first region outside of the Midlands which aimed to replicate the highly successful Made in the Midlands Campaign. It now boasts some 500 members across the Yorkshire and Humber region.
The annual event, which is now in its 4th year, is Yorkshire’s biggest showcase of manufacturing in the region and saw over 1,000 decision makers from the Yorkshire Manufacturing community & supply chain and over 100 exhibiting MIY members in attendance. This year the event was once again held at the Centenary Pavillion at Elland Road in Leeds.
Seminars at the MIY Expo covered hot topics in the engineering and manufacturing industry right now, such as bridging the skills gap, managing growth, the impact Industry 4 is having on the manufacturing sector, international trade and inclusivity in manufacturing.
James Sopwith delivered a seminar to a packed-out theatre on the topic of “Sustaining a growing business”. Here he showed how adi Group is driving sustainability across multiple areas of the Group from expanding our portfolio of services every 12-18 months, through our approach in engaging and developing our team and then on to our Pre-Apprentice and Apprenticeship programmes.
Also in attendance at the #MIYExpo19 event were Mike Parkins (Operations & Business Development Director) and Richard Greatorex (Business Development Manager) from the Group’s Food & Beverage Services division who promoted adi Group capabilities to delegates at the exhibition.
We will be continuing to promote our capabilities via this fantastic network at the Made In The Midlands Exhibition in the Ricoh Arena on 20th June, where we will have a dedicated exhibition stand showcasing all adi Group divisions. Speak to our team on Stand C18 at the Expo.
