Inspiring The Next Generation: adi Group ThinkTank Events A Success
Birmingham based multi-disciplined engineering solutions provider, adi Group, recently hosted two events at Birmingham’s ThinkTank Science Museum.
The events, which took place during Engineers Week, an international week dedicated to showcasing engineering to the next generation, saw members of the adi Apprentice Academy host workshops comprising activity stations for museum visitors.
The activities hosted by the Group’s apprentices were themed towards STEM and engineering skills for children of all ages and included making geodesic domes with cocktail sticks and jelly sweets, hoop gliders, spaghetti towers and electric motors.
Lorna Quigley, HR and CSR Manager at adi Group said, “It was great to once again return to the ThinkTank with our Apprentices for two more engineering taster activity sessions during Engineers Week.”
“With the events taking place during half term week in the Midlands, the ThinkTank had a high footfall rate meaning we had ample opportunities to engage with children and young people from across the city including numerous children’s groups.”
“The feedback received from attendees was fantastic with parents and group leaders complementing our apprentices and requesting more details on activities they run themselves. One Group even commented how sad their children were to move on from our event because they had such an enjoyable time!”
