RBWeek 2017: CSR Certified Gold With EcoVadis
It’s Business In The Community’s Responsible Business Week and we’re sharing success stories from adi Group’s ‘Engineering A Better Future’ CSR Programme.
In this blog, we talk about our EcoVadis Accreditation. EcoVadis is a sustainability rating programme for global supply chains. The EcoVadis platform conducts rigorous assessment of CSR programs to rate the environmental, labour practices, fair business practices and sustainable procurement performance of global supply chains, by assessing more than 20,000 suppliers.
Founded in 2007, EcoVadis has become a trusted partner for procurement organisations in more than 120 leading multinationals worldwide, including the likes of Coca-Cola European Partners, Nestlé, and Johnson & Johnson. Today, more than 20,000 companies use EcoVadis to reduce risk, drive innovation and foster transparency and trust between trading partners.
EcoVadis aims to improve environmental and social practices of companies by leveraging the influence of global supply chains. It provides Supplier Sustainability Ratings via a unique CSR assessment methodology. The EcoVadis CSR assessment methodology covers 150 purchasing categories, 110 countries, and 21 CSR indicators.
A company’s policies are reviewed in four categories (Environment; Labour Policies; Fair Business Practices and Sustainable Procurement) and allocated a score out of 100. The four scores are then combined to reach an overall score, upon which the award categories are based.
adi Group first achieved the EcoVadis Gold Accreditation in 2015 having been invited to participate by one of its multinational blue chip clients, as part of a supplier evaluation program designed to reduce risk, drive innovation and foster transparency and trust between trading partners.
In retaining the accreditation for 2016 the Group has increased its ranking from the top 5% to top 1% of companies globally evaluated by the platform.
adi Group is delighted to receive this award, which highlights us as an exceptional business, focussed not only on financial sustainability, but also ensuring our activities enhance our employees’ well-being, contribute effectively and practically into our community and trade ethically with both our customers.
