It’s Business In the Community’s #RBWeek and today we’re talking about supporting the local community via fundraising and volunteering activities through our partnership with Heart Research UK.
Fundraising and volunteering is something that our employees are hugely passionate about and our charitable initiatives play a huge part in our employee engagement programmes.
Our vision was to create a long-term partnership closely connected with our ‘Engineering A Better Future’ CSR Programme which is why, each year our employees elect a chosen charity for us to support throughout the year.
In 2016, Heart Research UK was selected as our chosen charity partner. Founded in 1967, Heart Research UK funds ground-breaking medical research into the prevention, treatment and cure of heart disease.
Since then, staff from across the Group have taken part in numerous charitable events from Easter Cake Bakes and dress down days through to the popular annual adi Group Football Tournament and our head office tuck shop. All this has contributed to the Group raising in excess of £11,000 for Heart Research UK to date.
For 2017, the Group is continuing its relationship with Heart Research UK to raise further vital funds to support the development of new treatments and procedures to help save lives across the UK. Events to date have seen members of the adi team participate in local and national marathons with two individuals raising over £500 a piece and we have many more events lined up in the coming weeks and months, including our popular football tournament.
Keep an eye on our blog to see our latest charity and volunteering updates for HRUK throughout the year.
